2950: The Great Years

The Great Years is a variant of our 2950 War of the Ring module, where nation population centres have been greatly improved, to match those found in the 1650 module. Some nations also have additional armies, characters and starting gold.

A full list of changes can be found below.

Note that all other elements remain unchanged. For example, if a population centre is listed as being improved to a major town, it will keep any existing fortifications, hidden status, port/harbour, etc.

Explanation: At the Battle of the Five Armies Beorn fought his way through the entire goblin host to kill the Great Goblin Bolg, so must have a greater challenge rank than Bolg. He had also supplied Throin and company with food and mounts – pretty remarkable when nobody else was around, hence the conjuring artifact. As for Waulfa – Beorn must have an apprentice to pass the conjuring artifact to!
